Perché la root di uvdesk deve essere public ?
Ho provato a cancellare tutti i file fuori della cartella public ma poi non funziona niente.
Come posso fare?

UVdesk non è l'unica applicazione che funziona con file esterni alla cartella public e file interni a tale cartella. Alcuni file esterni dalla cartella public sono utili ma non devono essere accessibili ai visitatori, per sicurezza, mentre l'utente deve accedere solo all'interfaccia pubblica nella cartella public.
Conosco altri software open source che hanno lo stesso funzionamento.

UVdesk isn't the only application that works with files outside the public folder and files inside that folder. Some external files from the public folder are useful but should not be accessible to visitors, for security, while the user only needs to access the public interface in the public folder.
I know other open source software that have the same functioning.

I find Uvdesk really well done but not easy to install compared to other cms for people who are not very experienced and this limits its use.

If I want to have my community in help.mysite.it why do I have to have it in help.mysite.it/public? What are files outside of public for? Why aren't they all in public so that you can make the root public and change the name as you want?
The files outside the public folder I did not understand which ones are needed and which are not.

Also the language should be selected by the admin and not by editing 2 files manually.

I'm not criticizing uvdesk which is great but if the installation is not very simple, many users quit and a project must be used by as many sites as possible to work.

Seems you have not understood how UVdesk need to be installed.

Did you read carefully the link I give to you?
You can choose to install UVdesk by FTP by uploading all the files and not only the public folder than you need follow the post instruction to understand how to point to the public folder without the public folder is showed in the URL.

UVdesk can be also installed by SSH and how is explained in the link given to you.
